• For general, bin, shelf and tote labeling, Datamax-O’Neil recommends direct thermal and thermal transfer label stock with a wax ribbon.
• Metalized polyester labels with a resin ribbon are recommended for equipment serial number plates.
• For PC board topside labeling, Datamax-O’Neil recommends a high-end polyester label with a resin ribbon.
• For bottom or wave solder side of PC boards, we recommend a polyimide (Kapton) label with a unique resin ribbon.
• For labels that will be scanned at longer range (up to 35 feet), we recommend retro-reflective labels with a resin ribbon.
