Quality & Production Control Assistant

Responsible for support all Printer Supply operations by providing timely and accurate reporting of quality, productivity, waste and inventory control performance and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.  Special focus on quality performance and processing of customer complaints and quality documentation. Scope of work includes all NAM Printer Supplies (Robinson, Il and Irvine, CA)

Essential responsibilities include the following:

• Support our quality system through processing our quality non-conformances and all required documentation involved in root cause analysis and corrective actions.   Including the following responsibilities:
• Investigate complaints and/or RMAs from customers to determine root cause and corrective action.  Soliciting input from operations management where necessary.  
• Process RMAs to ensure prompt response to customer complaints, complete any necessary inventory transactions and ensure proper documentation for corrective action and review.
• Communicate and follow up on remakes to ensure timely customer response and communicate status to sales/customer service.
• Track and report all quality performance metrics on a monthly basis.
• Support team activities and provide input to improvement teams focused on quality performance.
• Provide daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports and charts productivity, quality, shipments, on time delivery, new product sales, cycle time and waste for operational management in order to track performance and initiate improvement processes.
• Effectively analyze inventory in all stocking and distribution locations in order to track utilization and stocking levels.  Regular reports are generated in order to manage inventory to meet customer service requirements and our corporate inventory turns’ objectives.  This includes regular reporting of Make-And-Hold and stock product inventory status.  In addition, the position assists with the disposition of slow-moving and obsolete materials.
• Provide weekly reports of attendance and maintenance work order backlog performance.
• Must ensure documentation for MSDS reporting and communication are updated.
• Support / effectively manage various special lean project initiatives throughout the year by investigating, analyzing and reporting performance data required to make decisions and implement improvement processes in lean activities.  This includes not only during the analysis phase of the projects, but, also in monitoring results of the improvement activities.
• Follows company safety guidelines and ensures that visitors do the same.
• Propose continuous improvements in the activity scope
  Provide meaningful input into the lean initiatives

• Demonstrated ability and experience to efficiently handle high volume and diverse range of supplier, vendor, inter-departmental / company calls, emails and in-person communications
• Proven production processes and quality systems experience and knowledge
• Demonstrated knowledge of Materials used in production processes
• Proven analytical skills to analyze root cause, corrective action, inventory levels, obsolete materials, activity reports, etc.
• Proven ability to keep analysis reporting and information strictly confidential
• Demonstrated ability to learn / retain / ensure in-depth production processes knowledge
• Proven ability / experience to ‘take ownership’, and effectively apply excellent problem solving skills
• Very strong Interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Demonstrated self-driven, motivated, resourceful demeanor and skills to achieve set goals independently as well as being a very effective Team Player
• Proven ability to work well under pressure without sacrificing deadlines, customer (external & internal) expectations / requirements, focus or, quality of work
• Proven strong time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills

• Proven and Strong Proficiency with MS Excel, MRP / PSI and other MS Office Sofrware

• High School Diploma and College training, i.e.  AA Degree or Trade Certificate strongly desired
• Min. 1 yr. production, quality and operations experience….ideally, in Flexography Printing (Labels) industry &/or, manufacturing industry
